For me, this association has truly been a lifeline. I had enrolled in official Danish language courses several times before, but because of my work schedule I could never keep up and eventually had to quit. Here everything feels completely different. There is no pressure at all. Instead you are surrounded by people who share the same values, similar life experiences and common goals. It feels like a community rather than just a language class. Every Thursday I look forward to our lessons, because I know I will not be judged. I leave feeling inspired instead of exhausted.

From the very beginning the lessons have been designed to make everyone feel comfortable and confident, encouraging us to speak and practise Danish as much as possible. What makes these classes special is not only the quality of the teaching but the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The teacher creates a calm, supportive environment where everyone feels encouraged to participate without fear of making mistakes.

Moving to a new country is always challenging. It is even harder when you do not speak the local language. Luckily I came across Gethsemane Foundation, a non-profit that helps people like me become more confident in speaking Danish. The teaching is highly practical, with a strong focus on speaking and listening — the skills that matter most in everyday life. I feel much more confident interacting with Danes in everyday situations.

The classes are organised by Gethsemane Foundation and they are completely free. We have classes for just two hours a week, and I can honestly say we cover an amazing amount in that time. What I appreciate most is how well prepared every lesson is. Our class includes people from many different backgrounds and levels, but everyone is always involved and able to keep up.
